Roma Lee Jansen, age 83, of Grants Pass, died July 31, 2017 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.
Roma was born May 11, 1934 in Lamar, Missouri to Wayne & Upha Carberry. She graduated from Boise (Idaho) High School where she played clarinet and was a majorette in the band. In 1952 in Boise she married James Dallas Jansen. Roma worked for the telephone company until leaving to raise her four children. In 1965 the family moved from Boise to Grants Pass and in 1973 Roma returned to work as a nursing assistant and ward clerk at Southern Oregon Medical Center until her retirement in 1982.
Roma especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in her retirement years.
She was a member of Calvary Chapel.
Survivors include three children, James Jansen of Lake Oswego, Joanie Jansen and Ken Jansen both of Grants Pass; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Jansen in 2016; her daughter, Christie Otis in 2004 and a grandson, Eric Otis in 2006.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors with Pastor Denny Stahl officiating. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
