Roger Runge, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Applegate House.
Roger was born November 27, 1920 in Oakland, California to Walter & Gertrude Runge. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. He met Allie Parker in Ohio and brought her as his bride to reside in Oakland, California where Roger ran his father’s wire manufacturing business. Upon retiring in 1972, Roger and Allie moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. They built their home beside the Applegate River. Roger went to work for Evergreen Real Estate where he enjoyed meeting and helping people find a home.
Roger was a ham radio operator, WA7TGA.
Survivors include a son, Jim Runge and wife Bonnie of Reno, Nevada; a granddaughter, Cheryl; a grandson, Greg; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice “Allie” Runge.
A graveside gathering of friends and family will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
