Robyn Ashley Shannon

Robyn Ashley Shannon, age 50, of Gold Hill, died Friday, March 4, 2011 at her home surrounded by loved ones as one journey ended and new one began.

Robyn was born January 31, 1961 in Fort Carson, Colorado to her parents, Kaye & Carl Carlson. In 1978 she graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California. In October 2009 she moved from McKinleyville, California to Gold Hill.

An animal lover through and through, Robyn was never without a pet of some sort. She began training dogs at a young age and went on to train everything else from horses, llamas, mules, birds and even camels. Robyn was a true animal enthusiast in every sense of the world and worked many years at various different veterinary hospitals and dog training facilities. She was a certified member of California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA) with her canine partner “Ninja.”

She was also a “people person” working as an Emergency Medical Technician at Fortuna Ambulance in Fortuna, California, various medical offices in California, and most recently worked for Asante Medical Group in Medford, Oregon as a Laboratory Information Specialist.

Robyn was an accomplished artist, she was passionate about writing and she played acoustic guitar beautifully. Also an avid reader, her thirst for knowledge was insatiable.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Kaye & Reggie Marshall; her father and stepmother, Carl & Callie Carlson; a sister, Deborah Cooper; two stepbrothers, Aaron Sean Carlson and Carl Eric Carlson; a nephew, Shane Cooper; and a niece, Carley Cooper.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Scott Gregory Carlson and Darrell Gene Carlson.

She will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives she has touched and we will always cherish the special memories of the times that we were so blessed to have shared with her and for the joy she brought to our lives. We shall forever carry her loving spirit with us in our hearts.
