Robert was born January 17, 1965 in Grants Pass, Oregon. He attended Lincoln and Fruitdale Elementary Schools, Fleming Middle School and graduated from North Valley High School in 1983. He earned an AA degree in auto mechanics from Rogue Community College in 1985. In 1986 he married his one and only girlfriend, Susan White at St. Anne Catholic Church where he was a lifelong member. He worked with his father and brothers at their family business, Valley of the Rogue Dairy, for 21 years until its sale in 2004. He had great pride in their product but was excited to have the opportunity to return to school, a lifelong dream. In 2008 he graduated from OIT with a BS in Radiologic Science and was employed at Three Rivers Medical Center until his illness this September.
His proudest accomplishments were his 27-year marriage, his two children Mikaela & Casey, and his career in imaging.
Over the years, Robert volunteered with the Grants Pass Youth Soccer Club and GPHS career day, as an ASPIRE mentor and a Boys & Girls Club coach. He was also an Eagle Scout.
Robert loved working in his yard. He was very creative which came out in woodworking, welding, jewelry making and being a true ‘jack of all trades.’ He played softball and basketball and was a superfan of anything his children were doing.
Robert is survived by his wife, Susan Zottola; his daughter, Mikaela Zottola; his son, Casey Zottola; his parents, Palmer & Millie Zottola; grandmother, Virginia Wierbinski; sister, Mikki Baguio and husband Joe; brothers, Marty Zottola, Andy Zottola and wife Debbie, Tony Zottola and wife Penny and Randy Scott and wife Brenda; his in-laws, Dennis & Joan White, Chris & Kristin White, and Jodi & Derek Plank; 23 nieces and nephews; and an amazing group of friends that he loved as family.
