Robert Leslie Eaton, 67, of Cave Junction died peacefully at Three Rivers Hospital on February 3rd, 2016.
Robert (Bob) was born in Massachusetts the oldest of 6 children, to Arthur and Marie (Rita) Eaton. He moved here with his family in 1971 from Phoenix, Arizona. Robert is the father of two daughters, Martille Elias of St. Louis, Missouri and Jessie Fitzgerald of Grants Pass. He is survived by 4 brothers, Michael, Richard, James and Patrick Eaton and his beloved sister Suzanne Zook, all of Cave Junction.
Bob was a kind and caring person; he lived simply and loved things of nature. He lived and worked here in the Illinois Valley. Robert’s employment ranged from carpentry to landscaping, and he spent many years for the Park Service at the Oregon Caves where he worked in the maintenance department. He played sports and excelled as a Track and Field athlete in high school and enjoyed many pastimes including golf, softball, playing guitar and gardening.
Robert is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Richard, Annabelle, Evelyn, August and Maximillian and many dear nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family and the many friends he made while living in Cave Junction these past 45 years.
In lieu of gifts, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Bob to the Rogue Valley Humane Society located at 429 NW Scenic Dr., Grants Pass, OR 97526.
