Robert L. Wright, age 74, of Rogue River, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at his sister’s home.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to Robert Wright Memorial Fund, c/o New Beginnings Christian Center.
Robert was born February 19, 1938 in Anderson, Indiana. He was schooled in many trades including millwright, machinist, logger, and wood craftsman. In 1972 he moved from California to Wimer. Over the years he worked at Rogue River Lumber Company as a millwright; was partners in a private sawmill; and owned and operated Wright Way Wooden Ware for 30 years. He was active in the Grants Pass and Medford Grower’s Markets. His most recent work was to install air-conditioning for Dutch Bros stands.
Robert attended New Beginnings Christian Center, former Rogue River Assembly of God.
His hobbies included fishing and he owned three sure-Wright bait stands in Lake Isabella, California; hunting; woodworking; dominos; and participating in rodeo and drag racing. He loved playing practical jokes.
Survivors include a sister, Neva McConnell of Wimer, Oregon; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
