Robert Earl Weaver, passed away on May 6th, 2020 in his home in Grants Pass, Oregon at the age of 74.
As the youngest of 4 children, Robert was born August 15th, 1945 in Seattle, Washington to William W. Weaver & Pauline C. Johnson. He graduated from Placer High school in Auburn, California in 1963 and then served in the United States Navy during Vietnam.
As a man who was constantly on the move, there was very little of this country he didn’t see. And after all of his travels, Robert finally settled in Southern Oregon in the late 1990’s.
At 61 years old, he still had an ever growing desire for knowledge. And although Robert was raising his youngest daughter at the time and had worked as a Carpenter & a Contractor his entire life, he decided that it was time to go back to college. His remarkable drive & hard-work earned him an Associates Of General Science as well as an Associates of Science degree in 2007. Robert not only graduated at the top of his class with honors but was also Rogue Community College’s commencement speaker for his graduating class.
In his free time Robert enjoyed spending time with his youngest daughter, Katherine, and they were often found camping or attending car shows together with their 1937 Packard Coupe. He always enjoyed traveling and made many fond memories over the years with those he loved while seeing new places. During his life Robert touched many lives and left many stories behind. But those who knew him, knew that he was first and foremost an outstanding father and a beloved friend.
At the time of his passing Robert was survived by his sister, Ginger Desrosier, his two daughters, Katherine Weaver & Laura Smith, a grandson Owen Smith, several nieces and nephews as well as his significant other Susan Sandberg.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William W. Weaver & Pauline C. Johnson and two brothers, Harry & William Weaver.
