Robert C. Fletcher

Robert C. Fletcher, age 85, of Merlin, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Rogue Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Edgewater Christian Fellowship, 101 NE Assembly Circle, Grants Pass with Pastor Dick Boden officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Robert was born June 21, 1927 in Healdton, Oklahoma to Floyd & Eva Fletcher. He graduated from Southgate (California) High School, class of 1945. He retired as Captain of the City of Alhambra (California) Fire Department. In 1999 he moved from California to Merlin, Oregon.

Robert attended Edgewater Christian Fellowship.

He was an expert craftsman in woodworking and stained glass. Until 1995 he was a tri-athlete and received many medals. He especially enjoyed long bicycle rides on his tandem bicycle with wife, Dolores.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores M. Fletcher of Merlin, Oregon; three children, Richard C. Fletcher of Renton, Washington, Kathleen L. Emde of Redmond, Washington, and Lorraine A. Shields of Hemet, California; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Joanne M. Boyd; three sisters; and a brother.
