Robert Fred “Bob” Buhler, age 75, of Cave Junction, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at his home.
Bob was born December 9, 1939 in Los Angeles, California to Fred & Kathleen Buhler. As an infant, he moved with his family to the Illinois Valley. He grew up on a chicken farm near Takilma and attended Kerby School and graduated from Illinois Valley High School. All his working years, he was employed with the United States Forest Service as a fire prevention coordinator and as a lookout at Ranger stations in Oregon and other states retiring in 1990.
Bob was a member of the Lions Club in Cave Junction. He served with the Oregon National Guard.
Bob enjoyed Western movies; yard work; weeding on his hands and knees; reading especially Louis L’Amour Westerns; hunting, and jeep drives with his daughters in the mountains every weekend.
Survivors include his companion, Verna Davidson of Cave Junction, Oregon; two daughters, Karen Christensen of Cave Junction, Oregon and Tammy Wylie of Kerby, Oregon; three sisters, Dolores, Joann, and Dorothy; four grandchildren, Sean, Samantha, Ryan, and Stephanie; and seven great-grandchildren, Tanner, Harlynn, Gavin, Jayden, Jaylin, Camden, and Halee.
