Rick W. Woolsey, age 43, of Grants Pass, died October 12, 2018 at his home.
Rick was born in 1975 in Grants Pass. He grew up in Grants Pass and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1993. After graduating, he joined the United States Navy where he served for 14 years. After one year in the Navy, he married his high school sweetheart, Amanda and they had a son. Rick spent the first 6 years in the Navy as a Seabee and traveled to 27 different countries. The next 8 years he served as a recruiter in Grants Pass and as a recruiter in-charge in Washington. After the military, he drove a log truck for several different companies.
Rick was a sports fanatic who loved the Oregon Ducks, the San Francisco 49ers, NASCAR, golf, motocross, hill climbing and street racing.
His hobbies included golf, hunting, fishing, bowling, motocross, hill climbing, hydroplane racing, snow skiing, and jet skiing.
Rick was involved in the Grants Pass Active Club and was a bowling coach at Grants Pass High School.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Woolsey; his son, Kyler Woolsey who is currently serving his country as a United States Marine; his mother, Jannie Woolsey Carlson; and a brother, Derek Woolsey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Denny Woolsey.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Jerome Prairie Bible Church. Private interment will be at Sparlin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Rick’s name may be made to Jerome Prairie Bible Church, 2564 Walnut Avenue, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527.
