Richard Thomas Gills of Williams, Oregon died peacefully at home July 10, 2018. “Rick” was born in Tucson, Arizona August 23, 1952 and moved with his parents to Long Beach, California later that year. He grew up in Long Beach and graduated from Millikan High School. Rick joined the United States Air Force as a Fireman stationed in England for 4 years. He moved to Grants Pass, Oregon to be a river raft guide, working for ARTA (really loved that job) on the Rogue River. He also attended Rogue Community College for a time. After moving to Williams, Oregon he worked for Forest Farms. Later he spent winters in Hawaii and summers in Williams.
Rick enjoyed river rafting, fishing and waterskiing.
He is survived by his parents, Floyd Morgan and Annie Gills; brother Barry Gills; sister Nancy Gills (Jerry Hughes MD); nephew Jeff Hughes and niece Cyndy Hughes: great-niece Sarah Graff; uncle Fred Breneman and cousins; dear friends/partners Marinela Kyuchoukova & Tony Antonov.
