Richard Michael Small

Richard Michael Small, age 58, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2009 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born January 17, 1951 in Camp Cooke, California to Richard & Lorraine (Gildesgard) Small. As a child he moved with his family to Grants Pass and graduated in 1969 from Grants Pass High School. From 1971 to 1973 he served in the United States Army in Germany. He attended College of the Redwoods in Eureka, California. He worked at Simpson’s Lumber Mill in Eureka as a green chain puller. He returned to Grants Pass 25 years ago and currently worked as a machinist at E.C.S.

He was a member of the Corvette Club with a 1998 C-5 convertible corvette.

In his younger years he enjoyed bowling.

Survivors include a son, Richard James Small of Arcata, California; a daughter, Stephanie Decker of Grants Pass; a sister, Deborah Small of Lincoln City; a brother, Randy Small of Salem; and two grandchildren, Brittney Decker and Damin Decker both of Grants Pass.
