Richard Kelly Adams

Richard Kelly Adams, age 57, of Grants Pass, died Monday, December 10, 2012 at Rogue Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 at River Valley Community Church with Pastor Jim Christian officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of cremation arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Gospel Rescue Mission, PO Box 190, Grants Pass, Oregon 97528.

Kelly was born January 25, 1955 at Josephine General Hospital in Grants Pass, Oregon to Larry & Ruth Adams. He grew up in Grants Pass and attended Riverside Elementary, North Middle School, and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1973. In 1974 he attended Westmont College. He took his first construction job right out of high school with Ausland Construction. The bulk of his career was spent as a Project Manager and Estimator for a number of companies including Dan Thomas Painting and Dave Adams Construction. Notable projects include the original Grants Pass Swimming Pool (now the YMCA) and the Oregon Youth Authority Correctional Facility. He was most proud to serve as a Building Inspector for the City of Grants Pass. On June 5, 1993 he married the former Cherie Boe.

His hobbies included river rafting, golfing, gardening, cooking, making his wife laugh, spending time with his daughters, and his pets Norton and Mary Elizabeth.

Survivors include his wife, Cherie Adams; his daughters, Jessie Darnell and Jocelyn Weatherby; his siblings, Teri Beth Ward and Dave Adams and their spouses; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many dear friends.
