Richard “Dick” Bushnell, age 75, of Sunny Valley, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Leland.
Services will be held at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Dick was born April 2, 1933 in Ragan, Nebraska to Howard & Elva Bushnell. He graduated from Grants Pass High School, class of 1951 and served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 achieving the rank of GM3. On January 19, 1957 in Leland, Oregon he married the former M. Kay Criteser who survives. From 1956 to 1961 he lived in the Leland area. In 1956 he began working at Bates Plywood in Merlin where he worked for 18 years. He worked for Robert Dollar Plywood(later called Gregory Plywood) in Glendale from 1975 until his retirement in 1991. Four years ago he moved from Grants Pass, where he lived for 46 years, to Sunny Valley.
His memberships included U.S.S. Platte Association and he volunteered as a Boy Scout eader while his children were young.
His hobbies included golfing, fishing, working with his son, working with scrap metal and vegetable gardening.
In addition to his wife, M. Kay Bushnell of Sunny Valley, survivors include his sons, Kenneth Bushnell of Sunny Valley and Kevin Bushnell of Stayton, Oregon; a daughter, Linda Waterman of Grants Pass; mother, Elva Pearl Bushnell of Grants Pass; brother, Norman Bushnell of Grants Pass; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
