Richard Arthur Lavoie

Richard Arthur Lavoie, age 66, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

A reception was held on Monday, September 8, 2008 at his home. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born November 26, 1941 in Rockville, Connecticut to Arthur & Claire Lavoie. In 1959 he graduated from Pacific High School in San Bernardino, California. In 1966 in New York he married Cheryl Muntz who survives. After being honorably discharged from the United States Army in West Point, New York he moved to Riverside, California. He was a Riverside city firefighter for 28 years. After his retirement, he moved to Grants Pass in 2003.

He enjoyed building homes, gardening, traveling, hiking, landscaping, masonry and talking politics.

In addition to his wife, Cheryl Lavoie of Grants Pass; he is survived by a son, Brian R. Lavoie of Grants Pass; a daughter, Tara E. Sanford of Los Angeles, California; three brothers, Dave Lavoie of Tennessee, Denis Lavoie of Hawaii, and Jon Lavoie of Hemet, California; and one grandson, Austin G. Sanford of Los Angeles.
