Ravae Black, age 60, of Grants Pass, died Friday, January 10, 2014 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Calvary Church on Midway Avenue, Grants Pass. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Ravae was born October 30, 1953 in Medford, Oregon. She attended South Middle School and graduated from Grants Pass High School. She worked at Litton Industries until it closed. For the past 17 years she was a school bus driver for Grants Pass School District #7.
Ravae loved spending her time rafting, camping with her grandchildren and family. She loved to garden and play softball with her “Slammer Sister’s.”
Ravae was a part of the Slammers softball team for 26 years. She attended Calvary Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for the past 20+ years; participated in women’s small groups; and many other church related activities.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Black of Grants Pass, Oregon; her children, April Powell of Central Point, Oregon and Marty VanDatta of Seattle, Washington; Jim Black’s children, James Black of Grants Pass, Oregon, Heather Bratt of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Bree Koehler of Hollister, California; her mother, Billie Ekdahl of Grants Pass; two sisters, Beverly Witt of Portland, Oregon and Bernice Burrell of Springfield, Oregon; a brother, Doug Witt of Grants Pass, Oregon; six grandchildren, Brook, Hayden, Chase, Zane, Averie, and Emma.
