Rachel Ellen Marsh

Rachel Ellen Marsh, age 97, of Grants Pass, died December 6, 2016 at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.

Rachel was born November 15, 1919 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Jesse & Lula Ann (Lundy) McCombs. On December 31, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin she married Verlan Archie Marsh. In September of 1952 the family moved to Southern California where together with her husband, Rachel owned and operated a barber shop in Garden Grove, California. Upon retirement in 1985, Rachel and Verlan moved to Grants Pass.

For over 30 years, Rachel was a member of Parkway Christian Center where she was very active in many senior groups. While living and working in California she was a member of Barber Associations.

Her hobbies included many types of crafts including beading, needlepoint, and embroidery. She enjoyed crocheting hats for Asante cancer patients.

Survivors include three children, Ron Marsh of Grants Pass, Oregon, Bill Holman of Utah, and Audrey Dove of Anaheim, California; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlan; three sisters; and one brother.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Parkway Christian Center with Pastor Dennis Webber officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
