Philip Walter Sandquist

Philip Walter Sandquist, age 73, of Grants Pass, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at his home.

A memorial service will be at 12 Noon, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Provolt Community Church with Pastor Russ Gibson officiating. Interment will be at Missouri Flat Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Phil was born November 23, 1938 in Coos Bay, Oregon to Walter & Jessie Sandquist. As a two year old, he moved with his family from Coos Bay to Grants Pass. He attended grade school and junior high at Applegate and then attended Grants Pass High School. On November 17, 1960 in Reno, Nevada he married Linda Larson. For 42 years he worked for Ausland Construction from 1958 to his retirement in 2001.

Phil attended Provolt Community Church.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping and riding quads.

In addition to his wife, Linda Sandquist of Grants Pass, Oregon; Phil is survived by a son, Chris Sandquist of Grants Pass, Oregon; a daughter, Tam McCarter of Hermiston, Oregon; a brother, Allen Knight and a sister, Claudina Hamilton both of Grants Pass, Oregon; five granddaughters, Tara, Tasha, Christy, Trista, and Bailey; 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Brody Krause in 2007.
