Peggy Satow

Peggy “Margaret” Satow, age 89, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2008 at Granite Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jim Roberts officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Margaret was born to Amandus and Anna Morris on October 20, 1918 in Nelson, New York. She grew up in New York where she graduated from High School. She moved with her family moved to California when she was 18. In 1941 in Long Beach, California she married Chester Satow. In 1976 she moved from California to Sunny Valley, in 1998, she moved to Grants Pass.

From 1976 to 1998 she attended Wolf Creek Alliance Community Church. From 1977 to 1985 she was a member of Sunny Valley Grange. She was also a member of the PTA at Los Cerritos Elementary School for many years and a den mother for Cub Scouts. She was active in the “Mother Singers”, entertaining at nursing homes.

She enjoyed cleaning houses, crossword puzzles, reading and children.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Satow of Prineville, three sons, Charles Satow of Seal Beach, California; Frank Satow of Grants Pass and Robert Satow of Prineville; two sisters, June Folsbee of New York and Barbara Towns of Texas; a brother, Herb Morris of Hemet, California and five grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Chester Satow.
