Paullne Lucille Drury

Pauline Lucille Drury, age 99, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm., Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Alexander Funeral Home in Lafayette, Tennessee. Interment will follow at Drury Cemetery in Lafayette. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of local arrangements.

Pauline was born December 23, 1909 in Brattontown, Tennessee to Abraham and Martha Curtis. She was a native of Macon County and attended Sullivan School and Lafayette High School. She was the only local telephone operator for many years. In 1980 she moved from Brattontown to Grants Pass to live with her only surviving daughter, Peggy Harris.

She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church and retired from North Central Telephone Company in Brattontown.

She enjoyed playing the piano, organ and guitar. Her fingers were always busy sewing, crocheting or piecing quilts.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Drury Harris of Grants Pass; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 55 years, Jesse J. Drury and two daughters, Jeanetta Paige Meador and Patsy Carolyn Badger.
