Paul Wright d’Albenas, age 93, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at his home.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at St Luke’s Episcopal Church with Father James Boston officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Paul d’Albenas was born January 4, 1919 in Montreal Quebec Canada to Dwight and Florence d’Albenas. He attended school and college in Montreal. In 1941 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a fighter pilot and fought overseas in World War II. He returned to Canada and married Frances Ruth Petley on November 17, 1945 in Moncton New Brunswick Canada. He was called back into service during the Korean War and was stationed at an air force base in Canada for five years. In 1956, Paul and Ruth and their two children moved to San Diego, California. Paul was transferred several times prior to moving to Oregon in 1977.
Paul loved to play golf and bowl and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife of almost 67 years, Ruth d’Albenas of Grants Pass; he is survived by his son, Andrew d’Albenas of Grants Pass; a daughter, Paula d’Albenas of Sacramento; two grandsons, Jeff Walsh and Brent Walsh and a great-granddaughter, Vanessa Walsh.
One sister, Grace Scott and a brother, Donald d’Albenas died before him.
