Paul Lacanette

Paul Lacanette, age 81, of Grants Pass, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Grants Pass Golf Club, Junior Golf Program, 230 Espey Road, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527.

Paul was born August 18, 1926 in Conrad, Montana to Pierre & Gertrude Lacanette. In 1939 he moved with his family to Grants Pass where he made many lifelong friends. In 1952 he met his future wife, Arlene High in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and they were married in 1953. In 1957 they moved to California and ultimately settled in Lompoc where they raised their family. In Lompoc, Paul owned and operated the Varsity Barber Shop for many years. In 1985, Paul & Arlene moved to Northern California to be closer to their children’s families. Their love of the Rogue Valley brought them back to Grants Pass in 1992.

Paul loved golf, gardening, and being with his family.

In addition to his wife, Arlene Lacanette of Grants Pass; he is survived by a daughter, Denise Kretzinger and her husband, Rik of Pleasanton, California; a son, Kerry Lacanette and his wife, Janice of Tucson, Arizona; a sister, Yvonne Adkins of Salinas, California; two granddaughters, Katie Kretzinger of Pleasanton, California and Laura Lacanette of Tucson, Arizona; two grandsons, Joel Kretzinger of San Ramon, California and Brendan Lacanette of Tucson, Arizona.
