Paul Allen Hubbart, age 60, of Grants Pass, went home to be with the Lord suddenly on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Pilot Truck Stop in Tumwater, Washington.
A viewing will be from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A graveside service for family and friends will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Wilderville Cemetery.
Paul was born February 8, 1952 in Fresno, California to Thurlow & Phyllis Hubbart. He graduated from McLane High School in 1970 and went on to earn an AA degree from Fresno City College.
Paul worked as a computer operator, and emergency foster houseparent, a window cleaner, and a substitute school custodian prior to becoming a truck driver for Swift Transportation in 1997.
On October 15, 1977 he married Josie Ann Brierley in Oakhurst, California. They lived in Fresno until moving to southern California for two years. They moved to Grants Pass in 1981.
Paul especially enjoyed spending time with his children and foster children. He was a foster dad to 65 children over many years. He also enjoyed attending church, talking to people, music, hiking, camping, bicycling, and cross-country skiing.
In addition to his wife, Josie; survivors include two adopted daughters, Melody Leanne and Joyanna Jian Hubbart and three sisters, Virginia Hubbart, Carol Jameson, and Ruth Shapovalov.
His parents, Thurlow Hugh and Phyllis Evelyn Hubbart died before him.
