Patricia Lee “Pat” McEuen, age 87, of Grants Pass, died April 1, 2021 at her home.
Pat was born October 21, 1933 in Eugene, Oregon to Walter & Pearl Powers. She met Mac through her brother, Merle, who was in the Navy with Mac. (She chose Mac because he was the most handsome.) Pat and Mac married in 1953 and had three sons – Steve, Dan, and Phil. They built their family home in Grants Pass in 1969 and lived there the rest of their lives. Pat was an LPN and loved working with children. She’d give doctors her opinion, whether they liked it or not. Pat was fiercely devoted to her family. She was the first woman to ever be awarded the John Bastian Award (1964-65) as den mother with the Cub Scouts. Pat was cool before cool was cool. She drove a 250 BSA motorcycle and laughed when guys tried (and failed) to start it for her when it stalled. She also enjoyed bow hunting, hiking, and swimming (she won numerous awards and encouraged her boys to swim). Pat was an animal lover and adopted a few animals that wandered into the yard. She loved hot weather, good jokes, and music. Pat was absolutely fearless.
Her hobbies included sewing; knitting; crochet; stain glass; recording and collecting movies and music; and collecting glassware, figurines, clocks and music boxes. She loved motorcycles, European sports cars and swimming.
Pat is survived by two sons Dan McEuen and Phil McEuen both of Grants Pass; four grandchildren Ryan, Amber, Kaytee, and Heather; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence and son Steve.
