Pat Russo, age 89, of Grants Pass died Christmas Day, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 at Hull and Hull Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
He was born on July 28, 1918 in Providence, RI to Emilio and Antonetta Russo.
On Aug. 15, 1942 he married Phoebe Vincent in Pawtucket, RI. They were married for 54 years. They lived in Stoughton, Mass. and moved to Montrose, CA in 1954. In Feb. 1990 they moved to Grants Pass.
Pat was a boxer in his early years and spared with his friend, boxer Rocky Marciano
of Brockton, MA. His real love was writing songs and Big Band music. He was a musician who played Saxophone and Clarinet and entertained people with music at weddings, and holiday gatherings. A high point in his life was when he was asked to play in the band for the TV show, 'Charlie''s Angels' and in the movie, '1941.' He enjoyed traveling, cooking and singing. He radiated a wonderful sense of humor, that made people laugh.
He loved his family dearly and is survived by a son, Bill Russo, of Grants Pass, and daughter, Linda Bean of Grants Pass, son-in-law, Bob Bean, grand-daughters, Sherry and Karen and 2 great grandchildren, Jonathan and Gina. He is also survived by a brother, Edward Russo of Kingman, AZ, 5 sisters, Tootsie Russo, Emily Gichel, Helen Smyth, Rose Russo and Babe Russo, all of Mass., and many nieces and nephews.
