Otto R. Miller, of Grants Pass, Oregon, succumbed to cancer at his home surrounded by his family on October 30, 2018 at the age of 74. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends at Hull & Hull in Grants Pass, Oregon, on November 11, at 11 a.m.
Otto is survived by his wife Diana of 54 years, daughter Wendy Vincent, son Ronald Miller, daughter Sandy Monroe, daughter Katie Paul, sister Marilyn Dierks, many loving grandchildren, a great grandson, and extended family. Otto was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and a friend to all.
Otto was a member of the Operating Engineers for 40 years. He was employed by Copeland Sand & Gravel where he was a loader operator. Prior to working at Copeland he drove a log truck and built sawmill machinery, which he would then install. A knowledgeable mind and a work ethic that was admired by all.
He loved railroading with his railcar. He volunteered for the Skunk Line in Fort Bragg and traveled many parts of the country on the rail. Street Rods were also a big part of his life; building and showing them was a passion and hobby of his.
He was a presence bigger than life and enjoyed everyday! Whatever he did was always done to perfection, from building a birdhouse to building some huge machinery.
Otto died having no regrets. His bucket list was complete by fulfillment through his adventures and loving family.
