Orene Smith Kincaid

Orene Geraldine Kincaid was born to parents Edgar & Florence Smith on January 27, 1930 in Grants Pass, Oregon. Surrounded by her children, she passed away on March 9, 2019 in Grants Pass. She has joined her parents, husband Richard, brother Ronald, stepson Mark, and grandson Michael in Heaven.

Survivors include daughters JoEllen (Ted) and Georgia (Mike); a son David (Julie); 4 stepdaughters; a stepson; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and lots of caregivers whom she loved.

Orene worked for Southern Oregon Plywood, US Bank, Josephine County Courthouse, and several law firms. During her time as a legal secretary, she was elected president of the Josephine County Legal Secretaries Association in 1970 and 1972. Orene eventually retired from Lewis Realty.

She loved educating children (and adults), taking drives and looking at the cows, reading, listening to the radio, and watching the birds. Most of all she loved to sing! She was loved by many!

A potluck celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., April 27, 2019 at the Redwood Grange. Sandwiches, drinks, and desserts will be provided. Cold sides of any kind are welcome and appreciated.
