Olga V. Kalman, age 97, of Grants Pass, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at an adult foster home.
Private interment was held at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Olga was born September 17, 1915 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She never completed school and started working at a tobacco company rolling cigars. She made great strides in her life through hard work and self education. She was an accomplished dress maker and designer and worked for Boeing Corp in Southern California as a quality controller for parts made for United States space craft. After retiring, she moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1988.
Olga enjoyed bowling and dancing and at times an occasional afternoon at a game of chance at Seven Feathers, with a strict limit applied.
She was a loving mother.
She is survived by her son, Richard Kalman of Grants Pass, Oregon and her daughter, Lois McCann of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Renee Benson, Eric Kalman, John McCann and Shiela McCann; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Crain and Robert Crain.
Her family would like to thank the people of Key Bank who helped her when she needed help; Lori at Wings of Love foster home for her loving care she provided; her neighbors, Beth and Pete who helped her in many ways; her friends who supported her; and Lovejoy Hospice.
She enjoyed living in Southern Oregon and will be greatly missed.
