Norma Mae Kruse

Norma Mae Kruse, age 82, of Eugene, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Riverbend Hospital in Springfield.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Cliff Meyer officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Norma was born January 24, 1929 in Stambaugh, Michigan to Daniel & Martha (Perry) Kelley. At two years old, she moved with her family from Michigan to Murphy, Oregon where she grew up and attended Grants Pass High School. On May 13, 1949 in Reno, Nevada she married Lester Alfred Kruse, who died before her. In 2006 she moved to Fountain Plaza in Medford and 1 years ago she moved to Eugene to live with her daughter, Linda.

She especially enjoyed playing bingo, Halibut fishing in Alaska, and rose gardening.

Survivors include five sons, Curtis Kruse and wife Sharon of Grants Pass, Oregon, Dennis Kruse and wife Betty of Grants Pass, Oregon, Dan Kruse and wife Maryanne of White City, Oregon, Mark Kruse and wife Katherine of Craig, Alaska, and Richard Kruse and wife Caroline of McMinnville, Oregon; four daughters, Cathy Hales and husband Bill of Big Lake, Alaska, Norene Barnell and husband Ken of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Judy Welch and husband Paul of Central Point, Oregon and Linda Kruse of Eugene, Oregon; a sister, Ellen of Amarillo, Texas; 24 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Kruse in 2006; a granddaughter, Billy Sue in 1975; and her daughter-in-law, Cathy Kruse in 2007.
