Norma Gillette, age 96, of Grants Pass, died October 24, 2020 at Farmington Square-Medford.
Norma was born June 22, 1924 in Bend, Oregon. After graduating high school, she moved to Seattle where she met Edgar Gillette and they were married August 29, 1942 in Seattle. During World War II, she and Edgard moved around and in 1944 had a son Edgar.
Norma and Edgar enjoyed traveling, including Italy and Germany. They like to visit National Monuments and Parks in the western United States. They traveled to Alaska by motor home and passenger ferry down the inland passage. Norma and Edgar also enjoyed cross-country skiing at Yosemite National Park and Mt Hood National Forest. Norma enjoyed traditional rug hooking and volunteered for Friends of Timberline making rugs for their Timberline interior and exterior restoration project.
Survivors include son Edgar “Ed” Gillette Jr of Grants Pass; and brother Dale Livingston of Medford, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Gillette in 2011; daughter Laura Ann Burquet in 2000 and son Ronald Joe Gillette in 1989.
Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
