Nobuko Uchida, age 85, of Grants Pass, died July 9, 2018 at her home.
Nobuko was born February 11, 1933 to Kojiro Takeda and Tazu Nagahiro in Osaka, Japan. She married an American soldier, L.V. Costner in 1951 and immigrated to the United States. Nobuko and L.V. had two daughters, Rita and Ali. In 1962, Nobuko became an American citizen. In 1973, Nobuko married Hideo Uchida. In 2004 she moved from Monterey, California to Grants Pass.
Her hobbies included gardening and watching Japanese television, especially sumo wrestling.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Blaisdell of Salem, Oregon and Ali Rapose of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, Takako Takeda of Osaka, Japan; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hideo Uchida and a grandson, Justin Cutino.
Private services will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass.
