Neva McConnell, 86 of Rogue River, Oregon, went to be with her Lord, April 4, 2017 at her home.
She was born Neva Lou Wright, on July 8, 1930 in Anderson, Indiana to Guy and Vera (Cummins) Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Wright; and her husband, Billy Joe McConnell, Jr.
Places Neva lived: Indiana, California, New York, Arizona, Canada, Germany, and Oregon.
Early life’s work and missions: The Navajo Reservation, Sears & Roebuck, Child Evangelism Headquarters, and Big Bear Lake “Chapel in the Pines”.
Ministries: Neva taught Sunday School and Missionettes, Prayer Chain leader for many years, supporter of The Great Commission by being a faithful giver to home and foreign missions. She was involved in various ministries including Harvest House, Food Bank & Clothing Closet; Foster Grand-parenting, Christian Life School, Youth group, and The Young at Heart at the Rogue River Assembly of God, “New Beginnings Christian Center”. Neva unconditionally loved people everywhere she lived and visited.
Interests & Hobbies: Neva enjoyed daily devotionals, reading, handcrafting, including loom hats, she loved taking pictures of people; flowers, especially roses, sweet peas and hollyhocks. She loved cats and especially her 'half-a-dog' Lucy.
Survived by Daughters, Jane McKinnis (Ron, deceased), Christine Allen (Chuck), Delta McConnell (Jim), Susan Hochgeschurz Cortez, Donna Dubie, Roberta Wilson (Dan), Step-Daughters, Ginny Roush (Michael), Colleen Angie McConnell, Debbie Burnham. Step-Sons, Terry McConnell, Jim McConnell and many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren. Along with many adopted sons and daughters.
A Celebration of Life will be April 13, 2017 at 2 pm, at New Beginnings Church, 270 West Evans Creek Road, Rogue River Oregon. A shared meal will follow the service. A private interment will be at Woodville Cemetery Rogue River, Oregon, Jackson County. Those wishing may make memorial donations to New Beginnings Christian Center, PO BOX 1255 Rogue River OR 97537.
