Nettie Jane Rigel was born on February 13, 1941 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Leslie A. (Bud) Rigel and Mabel C. Neathamer.
Nettie married Leonard I. Morrison, December 13, 1965. Their only child, Walter was born January 3, 1968.
Nettie is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Morrison, her son Walter Morrison. A brother, John A. Rigel Sr. and both her parents.
Nettie is survived by 7 sisters, Frances Adams, of Eagle Point, Oregon. Martha Yawn-Crowell, of Wimer, Oregon. Annie Jensen of Medford, Oregon. Rosa Ross of Washougal, Washington. Mary Neathamer of Wimer, Oregon. Melvina McLaughlin of Kingman Arizona. Ruth Bailey of Wimer, Oregon, and 3 brothers, Steve Rigel of Wimer, Oregon. Bill Rigel of Wimer, Oregon. Bud A Rigel of Crescent City, California.
Four generations of nieces and Nephews.
Nettie graduated from Rogue River High School in 1960. Nettie and Leonard were members of the Rogue River Community Church. Now the Creekside Bible Church for 40+ Years.
Nettie worked at the Sprouse Reitz variety store in Grants Pass from the early 70’s until it closed in March of 1994. Then Nettie worked at Recognition Specialties for about 4 years before retiring in 1998.
Nettie loved traveling, gardening, camping and creating beautiful hand made quilts. Nettie devoted her life to Leonard, ( they were married for 56 years,) and Walter, their son, who died in 1998 at the age of 30.
