Neale E. Schrimpf

Neale E. Schrimpf, age 88, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Neale was born January 7, 1925 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Edgar & Nora Schrimpf. He attended school in Grants Pass and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1943. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. On December 8, 1945 in Port Angeles, Washington he married Virginia Moore from Grants Pass, who died in 2005. After his discharge in 1946 he returned to Grants Pass and logged with his father. He later worked in local plywood mills and drove school bus for District 7 schools.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid golfer well into his 80’s.

He is survived by his son, Kurt Schrimpf and his wife Pamela and his daughter, Karen Saunders and her husband Eric all of Grants Pass, Oregon; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Hehr of Kerrville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
