Nathaniel Richard Pike

Nathaniel Richard Pike, age 31, of Grants Pass, died Monday, March 18, 2013 in Grants Pass, a tragic loss.

All are welcome to attend a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Pythian Hall, 2301 Upper River Road, Grants Pass, Oregon. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Nathaniel was born July 18, 1981 in Arcadia, California. At age seven he moved with his family from San Jose to Grants Pass. While growing up he was active in Cub Scouts and played soccer. On November 28, 2009 he married Alysha Young. He worked as a seasonal employee of Harry & David.

He loved people; hated prejudice; loved the outdoors; was a free spirit; a friend to street people; accepted everyone for who they were no matter their beliefs or status in life; related to the downtrodden and was a true friend to many. Nathaniel was spiritual without being religious.

Nathaniel enjoyed writing and music. When he was very young he authored a children’s book, Lifetime in a Rainforest and it was published in 2006.

Survivors include his wife, Alysha Pike and two daughters, eight year old, Ulalume Mancuso and eight month old, Zephyra Pike all of Grants Pass; parents, Richard & Darlena Pike of Grants Pass; a sister Melissa Cale of Grants Pass; a brother-in-law Dave Cale of Grants Pass; nephews, Logan Cale and Alex Cale and a niece, Kristen Cale.

Preceding him in death was his grandfather, John Mills whom he greatly loved and who was his mentor.
