Naomi Stackhouse-Hamblin

March 11, 1934 — October 14, 2013

Naomi Ruth Parton was born on March 11, 1934 in Medford, Ore. She was the seventh of the nine children of John and Vera (Decker) Parton. Naomi spent her early years in Elk Creek, Ore., where her family owned and ran a small lumber mill. In 1950 she married Jim Stackhouse in Glendale, Ore., and during Jim’s service in the Air Force from 1950 to 1965 he and Naomi raised their five children in Washington, Hawaii, New York and California. Naomi became a widow upon Jim’s death in 1971, and continued to raise her children in Rogue River, Ore.

After her children were grown, she met Clint Hamblin at a seniors’ church camp: they were married in 1991. Naomi and Clint lived for two years in Klamath Falls before returning to the Rogue Valley in Rogue River. Clint passed in 2002.

Throughout her life, Naomi was devoted to her family and her faith. Her trip to the Holy Land in 1975, to walk in the footsteps of her Lord, was a memory she treasured. She was very active in the churches she attended. She was a member of Rogue River Assembly of God for over 25 years, and was a strong supporter of their seniors program, serving as the bus driver for outings. She later attended Valley Rogue Christian Center, also in Rogue River. In both churches Naomi was a very active member and was faithful in her support of missionary programs.

Naomi went to her heavenly home on October 14, 2013. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Juanita Frederick; Lola Blue; Phyllis Hukill; Ralph Parton and Paul Parton; and by her five children: Vickie Ward of Hillsboro, Ore.; Paula Wright of Medford, Ore.; Connie Bond of Central Point, Ore.; Christy Winslow of Pinkney, Mich.; and James Stackhouse of Aloha, Ore.; eight grandchildren and two great grand-children. Preceding her in death were her brothers Howard, Don and Wes Parton, and her infant daughters Jeanette and Jeannine Stackhouse.

Naomi’s family wishes to thank the staff at Spring Pointe Memory Care for their friendship and support.

A memorial service in honor of Naomi’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16th at the Valley Rogue Christian Church located at 520 East Main Street, Rogue River, Ore. 97537. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
