Nancy Alline (Wilsford) Darneille, age 79, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with illness.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Nancy was born December 29, 1929 in Tempe, Arizona to William Edward & Rosa Odessa Wilsford. She grew up in Tempe during the Depression. She learned to swim in an irrigation canal and spent many happy times swimming with friends and neighbors in the canal that ran by their home. As a young girl, she also liked to ride her bike. She met William A. “Bill” Darneille at Tempe Skating Rink and on January 30, 1954 they were married. In December 1955 they moved to Grants Pass. Bill & Nancy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004 with family and friends.
She loved the deserts of Arizona, long car rides, making quilts and growing flowers.
In addition to her husband, William Darneille; survivors include four children, Diane Darneille, Jerry Darneille, Linda Albertson and husband Gary, and Roseann Ealey and husband Jeff; two grandchildren, Sarah Carlisle and Samuel Crawford; a sister, Barbara Hallack and husband Bob; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clyde Wilsford, Harvey Wilsford, and Bill Wilsford; and a grandson, Benjamin Crawford.
