Murrel “Glen” Hagar, 86, of Gold Hill, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at his home.
No services are planned at his request. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 26, 1921 in Chandler, Oklahoma. He was the eldest child and had two brothers and one sister. On December 24, 1941 he married the love of his life, Francine Crabtree, who preceded him in death in April 2000. In 1943 he was inducted into the U.S. Army where he served tours in both France and Germany and was honorably discharged in 1945. After his Army service he began a career in heavy construction. In 1952 he earned foreman status in the International Order of Operating Engineers Union #3. In 1956 he joined the Operating Engineers Local #12, where he remained a member. He supervised large construction projects in many states in the West, finally settling in Oregon, living in Selma, Brookings, Grants Pass and Gold Hill.
He enjoyed spending time at Howard Prairie Lake, fishing and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include a brother, Ross Hagar of Fountain, Colorado; a grandson, Rick Jump and his wife Debbie; a granddaughter, Deborah Burris all of Grants Pass; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter Glennie.
