Muriel Earle Oxner, age 97, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 in Grants Pass.
A celebration of life will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at Spring Village, 1420 Redwood Circle, Grants Pass. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
Muriel was born October 31, 1914 in Los Angeles, California to Lyrald & Vesta Tilden. In December 1931 she married Clifford W. Oxner. They lived in Southgate and Downey, California until December 1970 when they moved to Selma, Oregon. In 1977 they moved to Grants Pass. Muriel was a Red Cross swimming instructor, a Bible teacher, choir member and a Christian school secretary.
She was a member of the Los Angeles Power Squadron.
Her hobbies included oil painting, writing, crocheting, knitting, fishing and playing cards.
Muriel is survived by a son, Harrell Oxner of Sparks, Nevada; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Oxner; a daughter, Jean Cron; a son, Dr. Harvey Oxner; a brother; and a sister.
