Mildred Narie Blevins, age 92, of Glendale, died May 5, 2017 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Mildred was born April 12, 1925 in Jamestown, Tennessee to Ernest & Evelyn Hicks. On December 23, 1949 in Albany, Kentucky she married Dewey K. Blevins. In 1950, she moved from Jamestown to Glendale. She worked hard all her life at many jobs including – in the fields; as a cook in a restaurant, as a clerk in a grocery store, and as a dryer feeder at Robert Dollar/Gregory Forest Products Plywood Mill retiring at 63.
Mildred was very generous with her time; helping whenever needed. She was also a wonderful caregiver for many people.
Mildred enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves; attending her sons and grandsons sporting events; enjoyed cooking for anyone who came to her home. She loved yard work and cleaning her home; spending time with family and friends; her cat, Snapper; and trips to Seven Feathers. .
Survivors include three children, Larry R. Blevins of Grants Pass, Donna J. Stewart of Grants Pass, and Dana J. Coate of Roseburg; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976 and two sons, Glenn A. Blevins and Howard K. Blevins.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday May 13, 2017 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Private interment will be at Canyonville Cemetery.
