Michael Jay Taylor, age 49, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center of cardiac arrest.
Services will be held at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Michael was born April 1, 1964 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Jack & Dee Taylor. He attended Redwood Elementary, North Junior High and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1982. He held a variety of jobs in the area including millwork, security, construction and carpet and window cleaning. In 1996 he married Adele Shilstone and they later divorced.
He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. He liked spending time with friends and especially loved his dogs. His favorite pastimes were watching war, adventure, and western movies, particularly any starring John Wayne, whom he had the pleasure of personally meeting during the filming of Rooster Cogburn.
Survivors include his mother, Dee Taylor of Grants Pass, Oregon; two sisters, Dee Swettman and husband Bob of Salem, Oregon and Jackie Bowen and husband Dave of Keizer, Oregon; three brothers, Gayle Taylor of Grants Pass, Oregon, Bill Taylor and Pat Taylor both of Keizer, Oregon; and five nieces and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
