Mattie Lorene Yokum McLane Huffman, age 96, of Sunny Valley, died Monday, May 26, 2008 at her home.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2008 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Russ Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Mattie was born February 24, 1912 at Reuben, Oregon, six miles west of Glendale to parents Lee Lafayette & Lily Mae (Grout) Yokum. A descendent of the pioneer Yokum family, she lived her entire life in southern Oregon. She was a homemaker who had been a rodeo cowgirl, cook at the Wolf Creek School and Wolf Creek Tavern, Practical Nurse, and tester for Jackson and Perkins rose division. In 1929 she married L.B. McLane and they had three sons, Larry L. McLane, Robert D. McLane, and Jerry N. McLane. In 1947 she married Nelson L. Huffman and they had two sons, Garry N. Huffman and Randy Huffman.
She enjoyed gardening, reading western novels, sewing, crocheting, knitting, riding motorcycles, fishing, and traveling.
Survivors include three sons, Larry L. McLane of Sunny Valley, Robert D. McLane of Grants Pass, and Garry N. Huffman of Grants Pass; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Nelson Huffman, she was preceded in death by brother, Jasper Loy Yokum and sister, Myrtle Burch; sons, Jerry McLane and Randy Huffman.
