Mary M. Steward

Mary M. Steward, age 77, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

Mary was born August 10, 1938 in Bremen, Ohio to Russell Delmond Smith & Chrissie Mildred (Johnston) Smith. In 1941 she moved with her family to El Cajon, California. In 1956 she married Stanley Selby Steward Sr. She moved from El Cajon to Grants Pass 15 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Lyn Steward Peters; three sisters, Mae Smith Hamlin, Ruth Smith Wildfong and Lois Smith Simpson; six grandchildren, Elyse Marie Steward, Christian Steward Peters, Stanley Selby Steward III, Alexis Ashley Steward Peters, Nicholas Brendan Steward Peters and Chase McKinley Steward Peters.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Stanley Selby Steward, Sr; a son Stanley Selby Steward, Jr; a sister, Dorrie Smith Bowling; three brothers, Lester Smith, Roland Smith and Robert Smith.

An open gathering will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015 at North Valley Assembly of God Church, 368 Jumpoff Joe Creek Road, Grants Pass, Oregon. Private interment will be Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
