Mary Lou Johnson, age 78, of Grants Pass, died September 27, 2016 at her home after a brief illness.
She was born December 21, 1937 in Van Nuys, California to Charles & Naomi Cook. In 1955 she graduated from Grants Pass High School. For many years she worked for Grants Pass School District #7.
Mary Lou volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club. She was a member of the Emblem Club; Retired Military Club; YMCA; Zonta; and the Grants Pass Kiwanis Club.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Victor Johnson of Eugene and Steve Johnson of Grants Pass; grandson, Spencer Johnson of Grants Pass; and brother, Chuck Cook of Gold Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mel Johnson.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens.
