Mary “Betty” Fillyaw, age 84, of Cave Junction, died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A Celebration Gathering and Potluck will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Sportsman Tavern in Cave Junction. A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Friday, July 6, 2007 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born February 2, 1923 in Erwin, Tennessee to Ross and Eula Wilfong. She was affectionately known by her friends as “Little Bit”. She grew up with four sisters and one brother in Tennessee and graduated from high school in Erwin, Tennessee. Betty moved to San Diego California as a young lady. While moving around with her military husband, she worked in military based stores as a sales clerk. She retired from Rite Aid after 15 years of service in California. In 1989, she moved from Poway, California to Cave Junction to live near her daughter.
She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Womens Auxilary in California.
Her hobbies included dancing, music, social activities with her friends. She enjoyed bowling and won awards with her league. She loved to dress up and look beautiful and loved animals, especially dogs. She was known as a loyal friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Gayle Werden, of Selma; grandson, Jeremy Thorpe of Reno, Nevada; brother, Haskel Wilfong of Venice, Florida and sister, Frances Howard of Erwin, Tennessee.
