Mary Edith Mcdade

Mary Edith McDade, 90, of Grants Pass died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Black Oak Adult Foster Care Home in Grants Pass.

She was born Mary Edith Austin in Paris, Arkansas in 1921 to Robert and Ethel Austin. In January 1940 she married John T. McDade who died in 2007. She was a homemaker most of her married life but worked for Calmar Inc. in the City of Industry, CA where she retired in 1984. Following retirement, they lived in the Yucca Valley CA area until relocating to Ontario, OR in 2006. In 2007, she moved to Grants Pass.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and painting the many different figures her husband made of wood and steel. She also loved to cook and spend time with family and friends.

Survivors include son, John McDade (Doreen) of Fruitland, Idaho and daughters, Barbara Mahnke (Don) of Grants Pass, OR; Ann Clement (Wayne) of Bakersfield, CA and Lilly Herby (David) of Ontario, OR., brothers Robert Austin (Maggie) of Alma, Arkansas and Clifford Austin (Margaret) of San Dimas, CA and 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John McDade, parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. .
