Mary Carrol Hamilton

Mary Carrol Hamilton, age 67, of Cave Junction, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

No services are planned. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born in Price Utah, July 27, 1945, daughter of James Calvin and Mary Francis Hamilton. Carrol spent most of her early years in Green River, Utah. Eventually relocating to Yuma, AZ and then Lake Ellsinore Ca. While on vacation in 1989 she fell in love with the Illinois Valley and after a short time relocated here. She originally found work with the Takilma Peoples Clinic and eventually moved on to Siskiyou Community Health Center as the financial director and Grant writer. She purchased a piece of property with her then husband Robert Deeds, it can still be seen at 837 Hays Cut Off Road and was named Sucker Creek Ranch. Mother had severe osteoporosis, and when she could no longer work she devoted her life to helping others. She was very active with Cave Junction Cares, and spent many hours baking cookies for the firemen on the Biscuit fire. Once she was no longer able to walk she continued to serve others by crocheting blankets for the children at the safe house alliance as well as the dogs and cats at Dr. Joe’s.

Preceding her in death were multiple friends and family members: including 3 sons, Duane, Dion, and Bradley, and most recently her beloved dog Princess.

Survivors include: Mary Francis Freeman, her mother from Delta, CO, 2 brothers and a sister all from Utah. Various friends: Aunts, Uncles and Cousins all from Utah and Colorado. One daughter Angelia M. Gregg from Cave Junction, OR,. Sons: James C. Turpin from Clarksville, Tn and Christopher Monroe Turpin from Cave Junction, OR.. Also; 2 Grandchildren: Derek Jordan Gregg from Palm Springs, Ca. and Jessica Marie Baringer from Lisbon, ND. As well as 4 Great Grand Children: KayLee Titus from Washington, Destiny Ann-Marie Baringer from Lisbon, ND, Choashania Coral Kitchen and Zeth Dartathos Titus from Lisbon, ND.
