Mary Carfi

Mary Carfi, 95, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Private interment will be at the Italian Cemetery in Colma, California.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.

The eldest of eight children, Mary was born November 26, 1916, in Calabria, Italy, to Frank and Carmela Guercio. She immigrated to this country at the age of five and spent many years in Provo, Utah, before moving to San Francisco, California, where she met her future husband Georgio Carfi, who was also born in Italy. She and her husband remained in San Francisco, where they raised their three children.

In 1989, Mary moved to Grants Pass from the Bay Area. She especially enjoyed visits from family members, drives in the country, and excursions to the County Fair. Throughout her life, she expressed a deep love for her family and for children and animals.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Georgio Carfi, her son Mario Frame, and her granddaughter Bianca Partlow.

Survivors include her daughters Jeannette Cappella and Denese Partlow, and her grandsons Mario Carfi and Jason Frame.
