In Loving Memory of Mary Ann Mills
May 7, 1930 to October 1, 2020
Mary Ann Mills, age 90, of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away in her sleep at home. She told her daughter she wanted two things: 1) for “God to take care of her like He has all of her life”, and 2) “to go to sleep in her own home and wake up in Heaven”; God answered both of those requests on the morning of October 1st, 2020.
Mary was born in Garfield Arkansas in 1930 to Charlie/Mae Moon. She grew up there and in parts of California with her older sister Virgie, who passed in 2014, and younger brothers Glenn and Russel. In 1948, she married her one true love, Eugene Mills, resulting in the birth of their daughter Cheryl and son Rick. They had more than 55 happy years together before Gene passed away, in 2004, from cancer. Cancer took Rick in 2012. During her 90 years on this earth, Mary was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, homemaker, encourager and wonderful cook. She loved music and sang as she went about her housework. She especially loved RCC band, Rogue Gold Jazz band, Serenaders choir and attended most performances, singing with us and cheering us on. She was selfless; lovingly caring for family and friends was always her highest priority. She leaves behind her daughter/son-in-law Cheryl/Jack Hartin, of Grants Pass, grandchildren Tina Dixon and Todd Hartin/Krysti, great-granddaughters Oriona and LaShandra Dixon, Samantha/Cam Nichols, great-grandson Nick/Kelly Hartin plus great-great-grandson Calvin, brothers Glenn Moon and Russel Moon, and all of her beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews. We all miss her terribly, but know Mary is guest of honor at a glorious reunion going on in Heaven, and we’re thrilled for her.
