Marvin R. Stark, age 79, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 12810 35th Ave. SE, Everett, Washington with Pastor Fred Schleg officiating. Private interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynnwood, Washington. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Marvin was born August 18, 1929 in Eustis, Nebraska to William & Viota Stark. His family moved to the Seattle area. During World War II, he joined the United States Coast Guard and served from 1947 to 1951. In 1950 he married Mae Miles. They had four children and later divorced. He married Dorothy Spooner and she died in 1997. On April 22, 1999 in Reno, Nevada he married Marilyn Warwick. He was a diesel mechanic in the trucking industry and worked for Harms Trucking and P.I.E., etc. After retiring, he worked for Shane Equipment. In 2002 he moved from Lynnwood, Washington to Grants Pass.
He was a member of Eagles Lodge in Lynnwood, Washington and Grants Pass.
His hobbies included rock polishing and woodcrafting.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn K. Stark of Grants Pass; two daughters, Linda Hawkins of Fernley, Nevada and Nancy Baer of Snohomish, Washington; a son, Cameron Stark of Everett, Washington; five stepchildren from his marriage to Dorothy, Monty Spooner of Colorado, Patty Hanson of Washington, Norma Reid of California, Richard Spooner of Michigan and DarleneWeiss of Washington; a brother, Gerald “Dean” Stark of California, Maryland; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a son David Stark at age 25.
